Does anyone like the fashion nous of this season Skins? Is it safe to say that Nu-Rave is dying a (very) slow and (very) painful, albeit Technicolor death? Well it is interesting that neon and brash, acidic brights are a feature on the catwalk, but I doubt that Luella was gleaning fashion insight from E4. Although maybe she has a penchant for a Thursday Night Sit In, where she can lament her lack of teenage cool in the face of these Bright Young Things. I’m using a lot of Capitals, which means I must mean something. Anyway, was Skins ripping off street style or was it setting the trend? Or does anybody care as long as somebody calls a halt to the high street uniform of star-covered hoodies, clashing prints and (un)ironic band t-shirts. And if we could wipe out the asymmetrical hair cuts and multi-coloured nails, I’d be happy. I know its about the self expression of individuality and identity, but maybe somebody needs to explain that to the stylist.
