they call me lips mc ginn

This I can use at night to conserve electricity

sounds like the start of a sexy story right? wrong. one day i had to call in sick to work as i had a spot on my lip. true story. my whole bottom lip had ballooned overnight and so i looked like a tragic botox victim, who could only slur words out one side of my mouth. the guys in work decided to call me lips mc ginn. and ever since then i have developed a fascination with the lips clutches from lulu guinness. some may say passé, others too-kitschy, and the kiss (hee hee) of death is too-katy perry. i say: lips mc ginn with a lips clutch? it’s a double whammy. i also say that was a fairly obvious segue, but at least i got to use, and enact, the word segue. and as you can see below, i have ingeniously created a list of uses for their versatility and a plausible argument as to why i must have them in 6 different shades.

This I can use as a bartering tool if I am ever held hostage. It's real gold.

This I can use when I fly to London to see my British friends, lest they mistake me for some sort of drunken paddy

This I can use to coordinate with my hi-vis cycling jacket

This I can wear with my porn-star shoes. And to beath new life into my gold lamé catsuit

This I can wear with my new zebra necklace!!

Would the lips clutch be too much for a country-house wedding to edge up/de-tweeify up a pink strapless pleated satin dress? I’m thinkin of the bag with the fluorescent strip light hue? Would this be too much? Mmmm…I think yes, but wouldn’t it be fab!
On a more recessionistic-realistic buzz – what colour sandals should one wear with a bright rose-pink dress. I’m having a bit of a dilemma: white=summery but potentially trashy; silver=safe but definitely boring; navy=smart but possibly too conservative?
    Help!

ooh. if it’s rose pink you could try something daring and go for a strappy heel in bright pop pink or even a shade of red. a careful clashing of colours a le carrie bradshaw could look seriously cool. then i’d keep all the other accessories nude or off tan. if not try a burberry camel brown colour and get those fluoro lips ha!

yeah my gut reaction was nude for the shoes – very wedding appropriate and they have a sexy afterlife too. and totally bring it with the lips!! you may as well have a bit ‘o fun with the outfit if you’re gonna be spending money on it. i would go with shocking pink or clashy with the fluoro or the orange if you’re feeling brave. oh my, i would be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous if you actually got one.

i was thinking nude as well. sooo many go-wur-jus styles in the shops at the mo!

[...] as we discovered in an earlier post, they call me Lips Mc Ginn. This might somehow imply I have big sumptuous lips or that I have a penchant for the lipstick, but [...]
