So London Fashion Week may have had it’s fair share of catwalk catastrophes, but on the whole the week was buzzing with the trademark quirky, forward and downright fashion coolness we’ve come to expect from LFW. Here’s a breakdown of what we think it’s so hot right now…
Prints and patterns was the name of the game for many of the fashion pack. Erdem and Clements Ribeiro produced collections full of flirtatious fun while Basso and Brooke and Topshop Unique spiced it up a bit with cool cuts and graphic interpretations of spring
Aminaka Wilmont grunged up her prints with twisting fabric and sharp cuts up the leg while Bora Aksu toughened up his dresses with fantastic web-printed tights. Marios Schwab showed a similar darker aspect with a collection referencing the rock and roll era of new movie The Runaways.
Holly Fulton and David Koma presented their trademark style with lots of graphic prints in sexy short dresses and, in the case of Fulton’s collection, to-die-for floor-lengths. Mary Kantrantzao produced a collection of prints like no other with portrayals of classical dining rooms formed into cute little dresses
Burberry Prorsum and Sass and Bide were on the right side of too-cool-for-school with Burberry producing yet more ‘it-jackets’ and lustful acidic colouring and Sass and Bide spot on with the clean edgy girl-about-town look
And finally, Giles Deacon had this particular dress worth mentioning which is just, quite simply, fabulously sexy…
