I’m not long in the door but wanted to share with you peeps a few pictures taken tonight at the Dublin Festival of Fashion.
It was held in the Powerscourt Centre on South William Street. Three McGinns, myself and our intrepid fancy camera man, Rory Nugent, set about nabbing and chatting to as many people as we could.
The launch finished with a fashion show which had a fair whack of really nice gear. Overall we were pretty impressed with the sartorial fare – and verrrry impressed with male model number 3′s best Blue Steel impression.
Full coverage to follow tomorrow BUT here’s a wee taster…
This lovely lady is Tara Szuch. She’s a designer who’s hoping to launch a clothing line next year. I complemented her leather pants and she cracked a joke about Ross from Friends getting stuck in his. (Anyone remember “The vaseline and powder have formed a paste”?) Brilliant. I think I had a slight girl crush on her.
This is Norman Pratt from Portmarnock. He doesn’t have relatives in Malahide (Rory was curious.) There aren’t many fellas who can pull of a dickey bow and pink shirt but you gotta say, Norman’s rocking the Dandy look here. And I think Dublin could do with a few more Dandies…
This is Matt Doody. I challenge you to find a more charming milliner. In the top pic, you can see Jennie was tickled pink by him anyway. His work was featured in the fashion show and he’ll be launching his Autumn/Winter collection in his store in the Powerscourt Centre.
So sorry for the brevity of this post… To be frank, I’m bollocksed. We’ll bring ya some more pics and some interviews as well as a few catwalk shots tomorrow.
