Sleigh Bells Ring, Are ya Listenin’?

It is the 8th of November and I have decided that this is the date I am officially allowed to start getting excited about Christmas. It’s not too early is it? I mean Christmas is actually only 6 short weeks away and more importantly, The Late Late Toy show is only 19 days away! I think I’m a bit late hopping on the Excited-for-Christmas-Bandwagon. So as the days get shorter and colder and the nights get longer and packed full of hot chocolate and toasty fires (sounds like a TV commercial eh?), I await Christmas with feverish enthusiasm. And as pathetic as this may sound, it’s not the mash potatoes and turkey or the annual visits from relatives or the presents on Christmas morning, that excite me the most. (Albeit these are factors which make this holiday one of my favorites.)  No, it is Winter Style that has me shaking in my boots (literally; its feckin’ freezing out there). The sparkly party dresses and the patent shoes, the cozy hats and fingerless gloves (very pointless but Über-stylish) , the woolly cardigans and thick tights. Oh wow, even thinking about all of this is making my heart race. And where better to lust over new season clothes (whilst supposed to be doing assignments for college) than the new Forever21 store which is opening this Friday. I have spent the last two hours drooling over the website, listing items that I very much hope are going to be in the Jervis Centre this weekend.

Hat, boots and little LBD are all from Forever21. The coat… Ahhh the coat. Well I got sidetracked from a college project, found myself on theoutnet.com and unfortunately fell in love with this 730 smackers Donna Karen jacket. Just my luck, eh?

Now, I must say, I’m not all hugs and kisses for Christmas and sometimes my Scrooge side does take over. Reminiscing school days, with cold wet snow melting in my socks and  knives of ice (I think some people like it to call wind) shooting through my hood onto my pink flushed face does not make my stomach flutter in happiness. When I can’t use my phone outside because my hands are too numb or when its less winter-chic more wear-as-many-layers-as-possible-chic, I do tend to get a little frustrated. But thinking of those rare  moments when you stroll down Grafton Street with a hot chocolate in hand and the Christmas street lights reflecting off your new sequined shift dress and someone checks out your stylish ankle boots…well this makes me forget about all the bad stuff… Ooohhh I got excited just reading that! Anyone else getting excited over Christmas-y apparel?
