So Wedding Fever is raging in my life at the minute. Its impossible to pick up any fashion publication without reading some debate over who will be designing Kates frock (and I am not going to lie I am looking forward to seeing it). Also several of my friends are sporting rocks and much of my conversation these days involves veneues, budgets and dresses………..However, there is no escaping the fact that while people are still wanting their BIG day, they dont have the big budgets that were a feature of Celtic Tiger Ireland.
It seems this is not specific to Ireland and Vera Wang has jumped on the bandwagon and produced a line called Vera Wang White for David’s Bridal. A standard Vera Wang retails at an absolute minimum of €5000 which is a hell of a lot of money. However this range starts at $600 (about €500) and makes Vera Wang a lot more accessible to brides. I was a bit sceptical about the range but I have been pleasently suprised. It features some really love dresses.
I am a bit of a girly girly – I love lace and flouce and pink so these three numbers from the White range really appealed to me.
I love the simplicity of the bodie and the lovely dusky pink colour.
Its very frou frou but I love the detail at the waist.
Ditto this number.
There is also some more tailered looks that I really like.
I am not sure as a five foot wonder they would suit me but I could defintely see them on some of my statuesque friends.
I absolutely love black on white for weddings and I like the simplicity of this dress but the little pop of colour the sash gives makes it eyecatching.
Finally, I like this one – simple and classic and while I am not normally a veil fan I like the way it works with this dress.
The only problem now is that Davids Bridal is located in the US – however they do ship to Ireland!
