It’s that time of year again when we look out for the new ‘it’ look, ‘it’ bag, ‘it’ celeb, ‘it’ accessory, ‘it’ sock, ‘it’ shopping bag, or any other ‘it’ that can be made bigger, better and more shinier than anything else. And it looks like for SS11 we’ll be heading back into a shoesies fanatic as the new ‘it’ shoe…the FLATform, comes stamping down the catwalks. This is something I think a lot of you readers, (female AND slightly vertically challenged men), might be interested in…the ‘flatform’ fuses all the height and intimidation of the original high heel, with the horizontal satisfaction of the much loved flat…some might describe it as a ‘FLAT-PLATFORM’ (the fashion crew once again outsmart us with their cunning use of word play). Here’s samples from Prada, Derek Lam, Acne, Marc Jacobs and Philip Lim. I would suggest however undertaking the trend with some caution, as much as we initially loved the jelly sandle, clog, and furry knee-high boots, they proved to be short-lived, and what some people would describe as ‘fashion-FAILS’. I might wait until I see Chung in them first…
If however, looking for comfort is not a priority for you…I would suggest opting for these slightly higher versions from Prada. Ok, so they leave out the ‘flat’ part in the whole ‘flatform’ trend…but they do look pretty awesome…
