I feel like I know everything there is to know about London Fashion Week already.
Like most work days, I sit with Twitter permanently open. It’s a non-stop scroll-a-thon today as I get a blow by blow account of London Fashion Week shows. “IamMademoiselle” tweets about how she’s possibly going to miss the Peter Pilotto show because of the traffic, and Grazia editors let us know that Christopher Kane is running 30 minutes late because Ms Wintour still hasn’t arrived.
Never have I felt as up-to-speed with events as I have today. Is this why some members of the industry hate bloggers/twitter? By the time their glossy comes out, or outfit has gone down the catwalk, we’ve already moved on.
I know people have already bestowed the virtues of twitter for about two years now, but I’ve never felt it’s power to transform the media as much as I have today.
The little bite size tidbits of information might also explain why I can hardly read an email all the way through, much less a newspaper article. My concentration has been shot to shit! Anything outside of 140 characters, I don’t need to know!
I know a lot of you who read the blog would be as Twitter addicted as I am already. But for those of you have yet to succumb to it’s clutches, it’s worth your while getting on the buzz if you’re looking to keep abreast of all that’s happening in the fashion world (and Election 2011, for that matter)
