Howayaaaaas! Today’s blog post does what is says on the tin.
I felt I needed to do a little bit of raving, nay, a little bit of banging on about how my first foray into the world of WAH and Shellac nails went.
As a treat before heading to London, I thought I’d get the talons done. The lovely Karla (at WAH nails, Harvey Nics) did a brilliant job going through different nail options. Above is the splendour I finally settled on. Pink shellac nails with silver half moons and zebra-print accent thumbs!
Now, Jennie and Rebecca both recently had their nails shellacked (in different and seperate salons). Both of them loved the result but weren’t happy with the longevity. I on the other hand have been faring very well. Below is a pic taken of my nails but ten minutes ago.
CLOSE UP ALERT!
You might notice the top coat has peeled back slightly but you can only see that if you squint. And there’s a tiny bit of silver missing from the tip on the thumb. Man, my nails grow fast. You can see the silver bit isn’t down at the nail bed anymore… But apart from that, they look as good as ever. I’m very impressed. Karla was lovely as well. Very friendly and not pushy with the products. It is on the pricey side. 50 quid was the damage. I’m not sure how often I’ll go in, but I am DEFINITELY a satisfied customer and shall return for the special occasions that warrant mega-nails!
I FINALLY found a bag to replace the one that has been tearing the shoulder off me for nearly two years. You can see that one here. I kept lugging it around because I fancied it so much. But the owie arm and strained muscles meant I was beginning to absolutely hate it.
I found the above mink slouchy shopper in Awear for the princely sum of 30 euro. The material’s a bit synthetic and doesn’t feel very nice but it looks good. It’s as light as a feather and has great pockets for keeping all the different bits and pieces separate. I haven’t bought anything from Awear in yonks but I was very impressed with their bag selection when I was in there at the weekend. And I can’t be committing any euros to pricey purses right now.
Finally I thought I’d let you know my (impulse-bought) Merle O’Grady necklace arrived in the post in jig time. I had bought it on sale at My-Wardrobe at a hefty discount. It was reduced by around 103 euro to 43 quid. As mightily excited as I was to get it, it was a teensy bit of a let down in the sense that it’s not a necklace with much ‘presence’. Nothing about it screams e146. Not that I’d have paid full price for it. The whole point is that I got it on sale. It’s still kinda shit-cool though.
So I’ve spent a fair bit of money over the past two weeks. No buyers remorse though. I’ve managed to bag a fair bit of swag, all of which has been good value. In fact now that I think of it, I reckon – as Charlie Sheen would say himself – I’m bi-winning!
