Aussie Fashion

So, what did Naomi wear to Australia Fashion Week?

FASHION WEEK MANIA….
I’m just about getting over the mayhem that was Australian Fashion Week. I loved every minute and the buzz was incredible. I saw 20 designers in total – I’m completely exhausted, plus it’s def time for some big hoodies and pj’s and flat shoes, my feet ache- running from show to show in massive heels is not cool or in any way enjoyable….But I gotta say it was an incredibly enjoyable week…

It was a flurry of ridiculously stylish folk: designers, bloggers, media, buyers, socialites and Australian celebs (if they not in Home & Away I don’t know who they are yet btw, I just saw a mental paparazzi buzz and tonnes of flashin cameras!!)
Who was there I knew… well Cate Blancett was there looking fab, as was Yasmin Le Bon who modelled in her friend  Gail Elliott’s show for label Little Joe Woman!! Seriously, does that woman never age?! Plus a gaggle of models with hair in rollers who looked like they were all at least 7 foot and weighing an average of 6 stone! Plus shed loads of air kissin’ and champers drinkin’…. It’s fashion dah’ling!!!!

The fashion stakes were high, and it seemed the quirkier and stranger the better… Who could wear the most bizarre glasses, random hat or crazy shoes (I swear it looked like some were wearing blocks on their feet- bizarre!!), all in this glamazonian fight for attention at what is the biggest fashion event in Sydney! It was an utter street style stake out, photographers from Ozzzie street style blogs were literally popping out of everywhere snapping and documenting everyone’s attire…

It was a complete fashion indulgence for me… what was particularly brilliant was the production of the shows, the lights, the music, the models, the venue– exactly what you expect from a fashion week and then some!

The location was incredible, held in the OPT on the water at Circular quay and overlooking the Opera House, it truly was an incredible backdrop for some of this country’s most established and up and coming designers! Oh also, just so it’s clear, with us being a total season behind (its Winter here now), it was the Spring/ Summer 2011/ 2012 collections that were on show – yeh its strange getting your head around the fashion seasonal lapse here!
So, what did I end up wearing?! Well, this is me on day two of fashion week; dress & shoes from Oxford; fur gilet from Forever New; bag is Gucci, gloves from Michael Kors and sunnies are Marc Jacobs, jewellery is a mix of Topshop and other bits & bobs!

Day 2 and once again in the gilet (dam glad I bought that!!) Dress again from Oxford & same shoes as above, bag is Aldo and jewellery is a mixture of random pieces…

Here’s a few of my favourite pieces from the shows:
