Fashion and Music

What to wear (on your head) at a festival?

Just back from my month long ‘holiday’ in Tenerife and just as I suspected, I’m finding it very hard to feel inspired as my brain is completely sizzled. Not only that, but the style over there was so horrific, I felt myself being taken aback by seeing a nice pair of shorts and a top. So getting back into real shtyle thoughts again is proving difficult. Especially as the shakes and sweats are starting to kick in and the bodyclock is still set in Tenerife time (staying up ’till 8am and sleeping ’till 4pm). But before I even get the chance to shake off the post-’reef’ shakes, I have another maseef weekend of drinking to partake in- the annual celebration of music, fun, drinking, fashion and ehh..drinking that takes place on us WWIWT girl’s doorstop - Oxegen baby!

So to the annual deliberation…what is the bloody heck to wear? Every year Oxegen becomes more about the fashion less about the music me thinks. So is it festival boho chic, 90′s acid brights and neons, trend-head denims and raybans, rock-chic leather and studs or pretty florals and tea dresses à la Pixie Lott. Or feck it all and throw on everything you own in a bid to be warm under the torrential rain and wet sticky mud that will inevitably cover you at Oxo ’11.

I’ve decided on, well, everything. Little bita studs, bitta flowers, some short-shorts, a Plain White T-Shite of course, maybe some ripped tights, over the knee socks, colourful nails, a denim tshirt, pretty dresses and of course, the mandatory BUW’s (big ugly wellies-and strangely enough as much as I dislike them, I dislike coloured wellies even more?) But the thing I am most confused about is headware. It seems to me, hair accesories are becoming THE talking point of any good festival outfit. Denim shorts and a cut-off tee at any festival look rockin’ but throw on a fedora and WHAMMY you have an über cool outfit.

Plain White T-Shite...have you got yours yet?

So basically, after quite a long-winded introduction, my question is what will YOU be wearing on your head? Fedora, feathers, flowery headband, turban, floppy hat, bandanna, just a few plaits? Or maybe you want yo locks free-flowin’ and fabulous. But whatever your doing at Oxegen or any festival for that matter, do let us know (I’m feeling a tad uninspired and need some ideas)
