Starting with Jennie this week. Jennie’s after all of Natalie B Coleman’s AW collection. Luscious silk garments with digital prints, lots of draping and oversizing and extremely, extremely cool. Apparently the range is a dig at all her ex-boyfriends who never gave her jewellery…is it wrong that it makes us love her collection a little more?
Jen particularly wants the white shirt – it’s just that va-va-voom statement top that would look so freakin’ cool layered over skinnies, leather trousers or a sheer maxi. She recently collaborated on a video for her new S/S 12 swimwear collection which is awesome and surreal and baffling and brilliant.
Becks is lusting after this Maje Hit leather mini dress. There’s a bang of party season off it, donthca think? This would look brilliant with black tights with seams up the back legs and a killer pair of shoe boots. Becks thinks it’d make her look fierce as in F.I.E.R.C.E. I reckon it would mrs!
PS (anyone now how you actually pronounce ‘Maje’?!)
Sticking with black leather, Sarah is lusting after this crazy cool black leather jacket by Ireland’s very own Joanne Hynes. Fierce, futuristic design, a leather jacket taking a step forward if you will. Basically it would make Sarah feel like a very fashionable robocop, in a FANtastic kinda way.
Lorna’s got mighty expensive taste this week. She’s lusting after this Christian Louboutin calf-hair shoulder bag. Schawing! (I think that word is coming back. I’ve heard a few people use it this week!)
Now despite the fact that we’ve had a warm few days, I’m getting into a winter-coat frame of mind. I was in Brown Thomas the other day checking out Emma Manley’s space in Irish Designers Create. It was the first time I’d been in in ages and I had yet to see what pieces from The Kooples collection have made it to Ireland (not a huge amount actually). I fell in hard, unbridled, passionate, Gallic love with two of their coats. A funky trench and a to-die-for parka. Can you warrant nearly 500 euro on a coat? You’ll have it for years and years and years, no? Somebody tell me it’s worth spending a month’s rent on a winter coat!!
