Where do you sit on the nude leggings spectrum? VPL showcased them Pre-fall 2011 and then I spied some by organic label Free People and edgy label Two Weeks on Need Supply Co. I then spotted a pair of beige lace Day Birger et Mikkelsen leggings on Zalando and I thought: two is a coincidence, three is a style and four is an INVASION. So, what’s the deal? Surely they embody all that is wrong with tan tights – an unseemly relic of the early 90′s and Grannies everywhere? But ho! Those VPL ones actually look pretty cool with all that layering and insouciance. I am particularly drawn to the Day Birger ones – girly and lacy and if paired with a utilitarian parka or a ferocious animal-print leather jacket, would provide a nice clash of textures and looks. In an ideal world, I’d probably work some nudie leggings with the delicious Joanne Hynes leather jacket that featured in our last Friday Flash Lust or with a sexy, leather pencil skirt and the Margit Brandt green cape on Zalando. Hot diggity, I never woulda though it, but I think I’m sold on nude leggings!!
