How to wear your Fred Perry

Our new male scribe, MM, visited the FRED PERRY POP UP SHOP hosted by Indigo and Cloth last weekend and this is what he saw…

Indigo and Cloth are showcasing the Fred Perry collection for the month of September in a specially curated space above their shop on South William Street.  There is a huge amount of pieces on display from their men’s and women’s collections.  I popped along to look at the coats as the evenings have been getting noticeably colder this week.

The space looks great with lots on display – shoes/bags/trousers/jumpers/jackets and scarves.
The ladies collection has been developed with Richard Nicoll but I was distracted by the two Harrington Jackets on offer.

The Harrington is a classic jacket and these two are very nice indeed. Both have tartan lining and the laurel wreath crest; there is a heavier waxed version which is slightly more tailored and has a nice extra tartan detail above the side pocket. There are many versions of the Harrington but quality and fit are the essentials when choosing one, and this has both in spadefuls. It’s worth spending that bit extra as this is an everlasting style and will keep the rain off those cycling or walking this winter.

It was great to see so much of the Fred Perry Collection together at the same time as opposed to the occasional shirt or jacket. The pop up shop in Indigo and Cloth really demonstrates the strength of the brand.
