Catflick Hatrick

Ah the sexy, elongated flick of black eyeliner. Come hither, it says, let me welcome you into my world of mystery and excitement. That teasing, seductive lick of black paint above the lash line has been reducing men to quivering wrecks for aeons now. It transforms the eye into something exotic, something powerful, something entrancing. Thick or thin, long or short, black, navy or brown…the eyeliner flick is a makeup powerhouse. From Marilyn to Jolie, by way of Cristina Ricci, Twiggy, Audrey Hepburn, Dita von Teese, Beyonce and Adele…every good woman worth her salt knows the power of the flick. Sexy, demure, coy, dangerous, innocent – the flick can be anything you want it to be.

Thing is though, I can’t get the bleedin’ hang of it. I’ve tried pencil, liquid, gel, powder…every conceivable ‘miracle’ wonder-prouduct advertisers have deigned to throw my way. I’ve watched tutorials, I’ve taken my time, I’ve gone slowly and surely. But the end result is always the same – SMUDGE BLOB WALLOP – one line too thick, the other too thin. Did you know it was possible to make your eyes look like two totally different shapes? One round and cartoon-like, the other almond? Bananas.

What is the answer people? WHAT IS THE ANSWER?
