Guest Post: Back to the 50′s!

One trend that I love for Spring/Summer 2012 is definitely the 50’s. Think Marilyn Monroe, Brigitte Bardot and Audrey Hepburn. Iconic, classic styles with a feminine twist. The 50’s brought fun to fashion, as everybody knows! (It was the era of Marilyn after all!) The high street have taken advantage of this colourful era and brought it back to the modern day in fun filled designs and colours that I am sure everyone will love!

To get back into the 50’s swing in a chilled out way, whether you’re going for a stroll or heading to Eddie Rockets of course (you might as well show off your 50’s outfit in a 50’s diner!), why not wear a pair of pin striped turned up jeans with a denim bralet and some polka dot flats (mix spots and stripes to mix it up and modernise the style!). Ready to hit the town 50’s style? Of course you are!  Try a shirt dress in a candy colour and pair with a boyfriend blazer (again modernise!) finish the look with lace trim ankle socks and pointed heels and your ready to go!

High street stores have also brought 50’s to swimwear! It’s pure genius. So if you’re lucky enough to be going on holidays this summer, you might as well strut your stuff 50’s style and sport a polka dot bikini or bathing suit, while going to the beach, you can show off your new 50’s style tie shirt and striped shorts. It’s a win for the 50’s style!
