Rising designer J.W Anderson launches capsule collection in Topshop on September 14th.

So, as the tug of war between Ireland and Britain begins, (who OWNS J.W Anderson?), the unmitigated media hype (that only fashion PR can generate) rages online about the new J.W Anderson Topshop Collection. On that note, did you enter the competition? Have you tweeted #JWXXXXTOPSHOPMUCTHAFUCKASsss to be in with a chance to win a broken shoelace? Have you joined the J.W Anderson Fashion Frenzy? The poor guy. I reckon he doesn’t know what’s hit him. I’m glad he’s referenced lots of sailing motifs in his collection as he might need to throw some fashion PR’s overboard.

Credit where credit’s due. The young Derry native wanted to pursue men’s fashion, but with no quality infrastructure in Ireland, he skipped over to the UK. He built up a rapid profile and cemented his credentials as one-to-watch (awarded the prestigious NEWGEN last year), despite the Irish media not paying a jot until this year. I do like his paisley patterns and skeleton t-shirts, but I’ll look into them when I’m good and ready and when the Topshop delirium has died down.
